Extra time to question four held in Swindon murder inquiry

Detectives have been granted extra time to question three men and a boy who were arrested on suspicion of murder after a stabbing in Swindon.

Charles Roger Millar, 44, was attacked in Barnum Court in Rodbourne early on Wednesday. Mr Millar, known as Roger, was from East Street in the town.

Two 18-year-old men were arrested near the scene of the killing on Wednesday.

On Thursday evening police arrested a 19-year-old man and a boy, 17, at a property in Rose Street.

The first pair can be held for questioning until 21:30 BST, while the second pair can be detained until 10:00 BST on Sunday.

Det Insp Matt Davey said police "would particularly like to thank the public in the local area and in Swindon who have come forward with information".

He added: "If you haven't yet spoken to us and feel you have information that might help, please contact us."
