A 19-year-old man who died when the car in which he was a passenger crashed into a tree in Swindon has been named locally as Costi Voulgaris.

Mr Voulgaris died when the Vauxhall Corsa crashed on Malborough Road early on Thursday.

Another man, the driver, suffered minor burns to his hands and was taken to Swindon's Great Western Hospital.

The road was closed for six hours while Wiltshire Police carried out an investigation.

Emergency services called to the scene at about 01:20 BST found the car on fire.

Great Western Ambulance Service said the male driver of the car was able to get out, but his passenger was trapped and died at the scene.

More than 200 of his Facebook friends were planning to meet at the Greenbridge Retail Park on Friday evening to pay their respects.
