Woman rescued from house fire in Salisbury

An elderly woman has been rescued from a "serious house fire" in Salisbury, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said.

The fire was reported at the property on Devizes Road at 08:53 BST.

A neighbour took the woman, who was uninjured, out of the house and called the fire service.

Station manager Dan Cooke said: "This highlights how important keeping an eye out for each other can be." The A361 was shut for most of the morning but has since reopened.
