Wiltshire Council to spend £40m on affordable homes

Wiltshire Council is to spend £40m on a range of housing including supported homes for the elderly and upgrading council properties.

The six-year plan will see funds for the scheme coming from council house rent revenues.

An expansion of the authority's own council house stock is also planned.

A Wiltshire Council spokesman said they would be in talks with town and parish councils before deciding on the location of the new homes.
