A teenager who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Wiltshire has been named by police.

Max Lewis, 19, was a passenger in a Citroen Saxo that was in collision with a van. The Saxo driver, a 22-year-old man, is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

It happened at about 15:00 GMT on Saturday in Forest Lane, near Melksham.

Police want the occupants of two other cars travelling in the same direction as the Saxo to come forward.

PC Peter Williamson from Wiltshire Police said: "Just prior to the collision, witnesses travelling from the Lacock direction were overtaken by three vehicles.

"This being the red Citroen, and we believe, a silver car and a blue car - they were overtaken at speed and the vehicles were travelling in close proximity to each other.

"We believe all three drivers know each other."

The male driver of the van, 25, from the Trowbridge area, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
