Stokesley store raided by masked men

Two masked men raided a store in North Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire Police believe the men broke into the Co-operative store in Springfield, Stokesley, at about 2230 BST on Thursday.

The pair, wearing balaclavas, were captured on CCTV inside the store. They fled empty-handed.

Officers attended the scene after being alerted by the store alarm. They found evidence of a break-in including a failed attempt to deactivate the alarm.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

They said they were particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious around the store on the evening, or seen a vehicle driving at speed from the area between 2145 BST and 2300 BST.
