Crash driver dies in burning van on A64

A van driver has died after his vehicle crashed and burst into flames during the morning rush hour on the A64 in North Yorkshire.
The Citroen Berlingo was in collision with a BMW car on the eastbound carriageway near the A162 Tadcaster slip road before crashing into a fence.
Police said the van driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had not yet been identified.
The A64 eastbound was closed for almost five hours after the accident.
North Yorkshire Police said they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle before the incident.
