Men to face no charges over York rugby game injury


Three rugby players arrested over a match incident which left a player critically ill will face no charges.

Tuui Radrava suffered a brain injury in an incident in the game between York Railway Institute and Doncaster Thornensians in York on 18 September.

Three men, aged 19, 21 and 23, all Doncaster players, were intitially arrested but police said no further action would be taken against them.

The matter is now being investigated by the Rugby Football Union (RFU).

Radrava, 30, was playing for the York side when he was hurt during the on-field incident just before half-time.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Following inquiries the men answered bail on Wednesday 15 December 2010 and were told they face no further police action."
