Village hall at Fylingdales generates own power

  • Published

A village hall in North Yorkshire that has undergone a £200,000 refurbishment has been made eco-friendly and self-sufficient in its heating and power.

Work on Fylingdales village hall included a bio-mass boiler and solar panels that will provide all the heat and electricity the hall needs.

The community, near Robin Hood's Bay has raised the money over 18 months.

Village Hall chairman Paul Johnston said it had been hard work to get the money together, but worth the effort.
