Scarborough murder suspect remains in custody

Police are continuing to question a man after a suspected murder at a flat in Scarborough.

The 48-year-old victim's body was discovered in a ground floor flat in the Eastborough area of the town on Thursday night.

He had been subjected to a violent attack in which he suffered extensive head injuries, a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

A 51-year-old man arrested on Friday remains in police custody.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said they were not yet in a position to formally identify the victim.
