Bottled water was made available while Yorkshire Water staff worked to fix the damaged pipe
The majority of the 3,000 homes and businesses in the Thirsk area which were left without water after a pipe burst have now been reconnected.
The properties were left without water after the pipe, which runs to one of its pumping stations, burst at 0230 GMT on New Year's Eve.
Yorkshire Water said the majority of customers had been reconnected by Saturday morning.
Bottled water was supplied to residents while work was carried out.
