York murder: Three women and two men arrested

Three women and two men have been arrested in connection with a suspected murder in York.

A seriously injured 40-year-old man was found at a house in Middleton Road on Friday afternoon and taken to York Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

North Yorkshire Police arrested a 29-year-old man on Friday evening.

A 34-year-old man and three women, aged 26, 30 and 49, were arrested on Sunday. The 49-year-old woman was released on conditional bail.

The others were still in police custody on Monday.

The scene of the incident remained under police guard over the weekend to allow forensic investigators to carry out a detailed examination.

Anyone who was in the area of Stuart Road, Kingsway West, Gayle Road and Middleton Road on Friday afternoon is urged to contact police.
