North York Moors homes still without electricity
About 70 homes in North Yorkshire are still without power after gales and ice brought down lines on Tuesday.
Northern Powergrid said most customers had been reconnected but homes on the North York Moors were still affected.
Engineers were continuing to work to reconnect homes in Rosedale, Eskdale, Bransdale, Farndale and surrounding areas, the company said.
Northern Powergrid said it hoped to have every affected home reconnected by Saturday night.
The company said it had sent one of its customer service vehicles to East Moors Road, Helmsley, to offer hot drinks to those still without power.
At one stage on Wednesday morning, some 50,000 homes and businesses across northern England were without electricity.
