Woman killed as car hits tree on A1 near Catterick
A woman was killed when her car left the road in North Yorkshire and struck a tree and landed upside down.
The 27-year-old was declared dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at 05:45 BST on the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Catterick.
After striking the tree, the woman's blue Peugeot landed upside down in a field, North Yorkshire Police said.
The road between Catterick and Killerby Hall was closed until 11:30 BST. The woman has not been named.
Police said she lived locally and was the only person in the car.
