Malton police officer injured in crash with suspects' car
A police officer suffered neck injuries when a car he was following in North Yorkshire reversed into his patrol car.
Police were responding to reports of suspicious activity at Malton Industrial Estate in the early hours of Thursday.
Three people were arrested with support from police dog units and the Cleveland force's helicopter.
The officer was taken to York Hospital but the force said he was not seriously hurt.
Steel cable found
Police recovered an amount of suspected stolen steel cable during the incident.
Two men, a 19-year-old from Ipswich and 20-year-old from Malton, were taken into custody on suspicion of metal theft, along with a 17-year-old boy from Malton.
Sgt Richard Mallinson, of Malton police, said: "This highlights the potential dangers faced by police officers every day.
"Thankfully, in this instance, the officer did not suffer serious injuries."
