Man arrested in York sexual assault investigation

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a teenage girl in York.

The 17-year-old girl was attacked in Dame Judi Dench Walk, near Lendal Bridge, at 01:30 BST on Sunday.

North Yorkshire Police said the man remained in custody.

Detectives have appealed for information from two men who were approached by a woman seeking their help in the Lendal Bridge area at the time of the incident.

The first man is described as white, aged 18 or 19-years-old, with short brown curly hair. He was wearing a blue and yellow Nirvana T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second man is described as white, with a slim build, also aged 18 or 19, with short, brown, straight hair. He was wearing a white-coloured top with blue long-sleeved arms and jeans.
