Barn owl killed in 'cruel act' at house in York

A barn owl has been killed in what police described as a "shocking act of cruelty".
North Yorkshire Police said someone had broken in to the cage the owl was kept in at a property on Langholme Drive in York,
The force said at least two other birds of prey had also been released from cages at the property.
Officers said it was believed the attack on the birds had taken place on the evening of 22 October.
