The mother of a boy with cerebral palsy who was unable to watch a film at the cinema had no wheelchair access has set up a travel review website for disabled people.

Kelly Jones' son Joseph France wanted to see The Theory of Everything at the Odeon, Harrogate, but it was on a screen without disabled access.

She has set up 'Disabled Trip Advisor' to review attractions' access issues.

The Odeon has apologised to Joseph.

Ms Jones said there was not "enough information out there" about disabled access.

She said: "There's nothing worse as a family than going on a day out and stumbling across something that was not necessarily highlighted in the website.

"That's why it's really important for people to get in touch, to leave reviews on places and attractions they have been to.

She said the website currently covers attractions in the Harrogate area but will be expanded to cover Leeds and York.

"This website is fantastic because it allows other families that have been on days out at local attractions to leave a review so people looking for days out that have got needs that need to be met regarding disabled access can have a look at what other families said about it," she said.
