Woman, 30, charged with attempted child abduction

A 30-year-old woman has been charged with attempted child abduction after a three-year-old girl was reported missing from Harrogate.

The woman was arrested on Thursday after the girl disappeared on Wednesday, North Yorkshire Police said.

She has been charged with attempting to take away a child in care without lawful authority and passport offences.

The woman is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on Monday. The child involved is safe and well, police said.
