Girl sexually assaulted on Knaresborough playing fields

A teenage girl from Knaresborough was the victim of a serious sexual assault on school playing fields in the North Yorkshire town.

Police said they were hunting a man in connection with the attack which took place at King James's School on Sunday.

Det Ch Insp Allan Harder described the incident as "extremely distressing" and said the girl was being supported by specialist officers.

He asked for anyone in the area between 09:00 and 11:00 BST to contact him.
