Pedestrian killed on A19 named as Richard Grainger

A pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car in North Yorkshire has been named by police.

Richard Grainger, 43, from Brayton, was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa on the A19 near Brayton, Selby, on the morning of 28 August. He died at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle remains in a serious condition at Leeds General Infirmary.

Two men, including the driver, who were arrested in connection with the crash have been released on bail.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
