Train hijack bid suspect arrested in Lurgan

A 23-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the attempted hijacking of a train in Lurgan.

A group of rioters halted the Belfast-Dublin Enterprise train in the Lake Street area at about 1630 BST on 12 July.

They attempted to set it on fire, but the driver managed to restart the vehicle.

The man was arrested in the Drumnamoe Avenue area at about 0440 BST on Tuesday.

Police also carried out a number of searches across Lurgan. A number of items were seized and taken away for further examination.
