Raid linked to huge drug seizures

A 33-year-old man has been arrested following a police raid linked to a number of significant drug seizures earlier this year.

Officers from the Tactical Crime team searched a house in Salisbury Street off the Dublin Road on Friday morning.

They seized £5,000 in cash, computers and documents. No drugs were found.

A 37-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were also arrested in relation to immigration offences.

It is understood the search was part of a follow-up investigation into the seizure of cannabis plants with an estimated cultivated value of £300,000 from a house in East Belfast on Thursday 8 July.

The seizure of more than 330 cannabis plants at The Cloisters in south Belfast on 8 June and 400 plants at Rosemary Street on 22 April are also being linked to the latest raid.
