Detectives think the man may be able to help in their investigation

Police have issued a photograph of a man they want to interview about an incident when a concrete block was dropped on a policewoman.

The officer escaped serious injury in the incident during rioting in north Belfast's Ardoyne area on 12 July.

Detectives are appealing to the public to help identify the man whom they say may not be resident in Northern Ireland.

A senior detective said the response to media appeals had been outstanding.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Little, who is heading the investigation into the rioting, said he was again seeking public help in identifying the man.

He said he was hopeful the man could assist with inquiries into the incident.

Mr Little said anyone with information about the man or the rioting should contact detectives on 02890 259232 or on Crimestoppers, telephone 0800 555111
