A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged over an attack outside a bar which left a man critically ill.

The 38-year-old victim was assaulted at 0140 BST on Sunday in Killyclogher on the outskirts of Omagh.

Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard the father-of-six remains on a life-support machine, having suffered a brain haemorrhage and a collapsed lung.

Brian Moore, of Coolnagard Rise in Omagh, was charged with grievous bodily harm. He was remanded in custody.

In court, Mr Moore spoke only to confirm he understood the charge.

The police opposed bail because of a risk of re-offending.
