Man had drugs haul worth £20,000

A 32-year-old Londonderry man has pleaded guilty to charges of possession of amphetamines worth £20,000 and possession with intent to supply.

Londonderry Crown Court was told that the drugs were found in a room in the City Hotel last year.

Damien O'Neill, a self-employed catering contractor from Carlisle Rd, committed the offences on 9 October 2009.

He was released on continuing bail until sentencing.

Meanwhile, his co-accused, 27-year-old Paul Lismore from Kilmakee Road in Templepatrick, has pleaded not guilty to the same charges and will stand trial on 8 November.

He was also released on continuing bail.
