A 14-year-old boy died instantaneously when a quad bike crashed last year, an inquest in Londonderry has heard.
Patrick McErlean of Craigmore Road, Maghera, died when the quad hit a concrete pillar near the town on 19 November.
The first person to arrive on the scene noticed two boys without helmets on a quad.
The deputy coroner Brian Sherrard said the case showed the importance of wearing a helmet.
