Trial of man accused of Garda's manslaughter begins

Garda Robbie McCallion was injured and died two weeks later in hospital.
The trial of a man charged with the manslaughter of an Irish police officer last year in Letterkenny, County Donegal, has begun.
Jamie McGrenaghan, 19, from Gortnatra, Kerrykeel, County Donegal, pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of Garda Robbie McCallion and endangering the lives of two other gardai.
He admitted dangerous driving causing death, and stealing another car.
Garda McCallion was injured and died two weeks later in hospital.
The court heard that Mr McGrenaghan allegedly drove a car at Garda Joanne Doherty and Garda Shane Lavelle putting them at risk of injury or death.
The trial at Letterkenny Circuit Court continues.
