A Polish woman is to become the first member of her Eastern European community to stand for election in Northern Ireland.
Anna Ochal-Molanda was selected on Sunday evening to run as an SDLP candidate for Craigavon in next year's council elections.
She said there was an appetite among Polish people to get involved in local politics.
Ms Anna Ochal-Molanda said people had reacted positively to her move.
