Two held after gun found in north Belfast released

Two men arrested in north Belfast on Wednesday night by police investigating dissident republican activity have been released pending further inquiries.

The pair were arrested after a van was stopped in Clifton Street.

A gun found in the vehicle has been taken away for examination after a security operation involving the Army.

A number of follow up searches were also carried out. The men who were questioned are aged 29 and 41.
