The former Northern Ireland defender Gerry Taggart has been charged by the Football Association with improper conduct.
Taggart got involved in a fight on the pitch at a League One match earlier this week.
The scuffles happened during a match between Carlisle United and Oldham Athletic. Taggart is the assistant manager at Oldham.
One player suffered facial injuries during the row.
Both teams have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players.
Taggart, 40, who spent the majority of his career with Barnsley and Leicester City, was capped 51 times for Northern Ireland, scoring seven goals.
