Agriculture Minister, Michelle Gildernew, has agreed to continue funding Young Farmers groups in NI for the next three years.
However, they must produce a business plan to show how it will be spent.
The grant, worth £75,000 a year, was one of the cost savings proposed in the department's draft budget proposals, published in January.
Ms Gildernew met with representatives of Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster last week.
She said it had been a "useful discussion" and that she had indicated "the sort of measurable outputs that they would have to deliver to justify continued grant aid".
