Man faces court on multi-million pound fraud charges

A Belfast man has been remanded in custody on charges connected to an alleged multi-million pound fraud across Northern Ireland and Europe.

John Cartmill, 31, faces eight counts of fraud by false representation involving telephone calls, cloned credit cards and emails.

The alleged victims include an air tools business in Glasgow and other operators in Luton and Leeds.

Mr Cartmill was remanded in custody to appear again via video-link next week.

A 25-year-old woman who was arrested as part of the same police operation has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
