Public Record Office to reopen at new Belfast base
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) is to reopen on Wednesday at its new headquarters at Titanic Quarter in Belfast.
The Stormont Executive invested almost £30m in the construction of a new purpose-built record office.
Director of PRONI, Aileen McClintock said the building had opened two months ahead of schedule.
She said the move included the relocation "of over 40km of documents".
"The new record office provides greater space, more modern facilities and coupled with our fantastic web-based resources, will enhance the visitor experience and increase awareness of Northern Ireland's archival cultural heritage," she said.
