A fire at a shop in Belfast, which was put out by fire fighters before it reached gas containers stored there, is being treated as arson by police.

The fire was started outside the shop in Springfield Avenue on Sunday.

A police spokesperson said the fire service "averted a possible serious explosion" by extinguishing the fire before it reached the gas containers.

Police have asked for anyone with information about the fire to contact them.
