A 48-year-old Lisburn man has been formally arraigned before the Crown Court accused of the murder of 70-year-old Jim Heasley last year.

Jackie Allen, of Ravarnet Gardens, pleaded not guilty at Craigavon Court, sitting in Belfast, to murdering the pensioner in October 2010.

Mr Heasley died almost two weeks after allegedly being attacked near his Graig Gardens home in Lisburn.

Mr Allen's case will be reviewed by the court next month.
