Two charged after police car chase in Dunmurry

Two men, aged 22 and 19, have been charged following a police chase in Dunmurry, on the outskirts of Belfast.

Police said a Honda Civic car avoided the deployment of a stinger by driving on the wrong side of the road on Wednesday. The driver later stopped in Woodside Drive and made off on foot.

A transit van struck a police vehicle which had parked alongside the abandoned car at Woodside Drive.

Both men are due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates' court on 26 March.

The 22-year-old man has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and a number of other driving offences.

The 19-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving and a number of other offences.
