The search in the Irish Sea for a crew member missing from a cargo ship has been scaled down.

The man, a foreign national in his 20s, was a crew member on the Fehn Sirius.

The Irish Coast Guard helicopter, the Arklow Lifeboat, an RAF helicopter and the lifeboats from Portaferry and Newcastle have now been stood down.

The Fehn Sirius, a cargo ship, continues to backtrack in the Irish Sea and is being assisted in the search by the Irish Naval Vessel, the LE Ciara.

The man was reported missing at 08:45 GMT on Tuesday but was last seen at 21:00 GMT on Monday when the vessel was east of Strangford Lough.

The ship was sailing from Belfast to Portugal when the crew member went missing.
