Emergency landing at Dublin Airport a false alarm

A plane made an emergency landing at Dublin Airport after the pilot reported a suspicious object on board but nothing suspicious was found, Irish police have said.

The Delta Airlines plane was en route from Istanbul to JFK airport in New York.

Passengers remained on board while gardai searched the aircraft.

The incident came hours after a plane made an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport.

It is not thought the two incidents are connected.
