There are no immediate plans to televise court proceedings in Northern Ireland, Justice Minister David Ford has said.

Mr Ford was responding to a question from Ulster Unionist MLA John McCallister in the assembly on Tuesday.

Last month the High Court in Edinburgh permitted the filming of the sentencing of a man found guilty of murder.

Mr Ford said he was aware of the position in Scotland and would monitor the position in England and Wales.
