Man charged in connection with death of Owen McKeown

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Owen McKeown in the River Bann last weekend.

He is charged with manslaughter, possessing a class C drug and possessing a class C drug with intent to supply.

He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Mr McKeown, 21, from the Dunclug estate in Ballymena, went into the water close to the Bann Road bridge in Kilrea on Saturday. His body was found on Sunday.

Two other men, aged 25 and 30, who were questioned in connection with his death, were released on Monday.
