Castlewellan security alert over

A bomb alert in Castlewellan, County Down, which caused a number of homes to be evacuated on Saturday night, has ended.

It is understood a van parked on the Wood Road was the focus of the alert.

Army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion but police said "nothing untoward" was found.

A church hall in the area was opened for people who were out of their homes for a number of hours.
