A 37-year-old man has been shot in north Belfast in a paramilitary-style attack.

It happened at Brompton Park in Ardoyne at about 15:55 BST on Sunday.

He received two gunshot wounds, one to his lower back and another to his thigh. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said they wanted to speak to a man wearing a baseball cap who got into a silver car after the shooting and drove in the direction of Ardoyne Road.

It's understood police are not treating the shooting in Ardoyne yesterday as attempted murder - the main line of inquiry is that it was a paramilitary style attack.
