Belfast electricity substation fire treated as arson

Police are treating as arson a fire at an electricity substation in north Belfast which caused power cuts for 1,200 customers.

The fire at Brae Hill in Ballysillan was reported at about 15:30 BST on Wednesday.

Electricity was restored to most of the customers and the fire was put out, but about 120 homes were expected to remain without power for much of the evening.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
