Man to be tried for Patrick Harkin murder in Derry

A 47-year-old man Englishman has been returned for trial at Londonderry Magistrates' Court for the murder of a man in the city last year.

Paul Greatbanks, who had his address given as care of Maghaberry prison, is charged with the murder of Patrick Harkin and the attempted murder of Paul Mythen

The attack happened at Bayview Terrace in the city in February 2011.

The defendant spoke only to confirm that he understood the charges.

The trial is due to begin in three weeks at Laganside Crown Court.
