Michael Lagan bid to add sunroom to listed stables blocked
One of Northern Ireland's wealthiest men has been blocked from adding a conservatory to a listed building on his country estate.
Michael Lagan applied to add a sunroom and wine cellar to a converted stable block at Florida Manor, near Killinchy.
Planners said it should be refused because it would "damage the original design and essential character of the stables".
Florida Manor has a 18th century house, other buildings and nearly 200 acres.
The main house is derelict though some of the other buildings are being brought back into use.
Mr Lagan owns the Lagan Construction Group which has an annual turnover of more than £150m.
Alongside his brother Kevin he regularly features in the top 10 of Northern Ireland rich lists.
