Two men arrested after £25,000 drugs seized

Two men, aged 34 and 20, have been arrested following a drugs seizure in Magherafelt, County Londonderry.

A search was carried out on the Highfield Road and a house in Mullaghboy Heights on Saturday night.

Money, a car and a quantity of suspected class A and B drugs, with an estimated value of £25,000, were seized from the searches.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the seizure but has since been released on bail.

SDLP councillor Jim Campbell welcomed the seizures.

"This drugs haul is very much welcomed by the local community, particularly by the many parents living in the Highfield area who have been very concerned about drug problems and anti-social behaviour in the estate," he said.
