Apartments damaged in Dundalk fire

A number of apartments in Dundalk, County Louth, have been damaged in an overnight fire.

It is understood that the fire started in the kitchen of a second-floor flat at the Long Walk Apartments in Carroll Village at 22:45 BST.

One man was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital, but his condition is not life threatening.

Two adjoining apartments were affected by the blaze and there was smoke damage in the block.

Three fire appliances were sent to deal with the blaze.
