Portadown shop robbed by man armed with knife

Detectives have appealed for help in tracing a man who robbed a shop in Portadown early on Saturday.

The man, armed with a knife, entered the shop in Thomas Street shortly before 07:00 BST and demanded money.

He made off with a small sum of cash. He is described as being about 6ft, of slim build and wearing a grey padded jacket, black hoody and black jeans.

Police believe he was in the area some time before the robbery and also attempted to hijack a car.
