Six men arrested following PSNI drug operation

Six men have been arrested as part of a police operation into drug dealing in the Dungannon, Cookstown and Portadown areas.

Police said they were also seeking other individuals after 10 homes were searched on Wednesday.

Two cars were also seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Police said the searches were in response to community concerns about drug dealing in the Dungannon area.

Area commander, Ch Insp Jane Humphries, said the searches were the result of six months of investigation.

"This is a proactive intelligence-led operation focussing on people we suspect are supplying Class A drugs, including heroin and cocaine," she said.

"These searches were welcomed by the local community, and I wish to reassure them that police will act upon their concerns and issues and do what is necessary to bring anyone who sells drugs within our communities before the court."
